I.M Nutrition is focused and passionate about helping people heal, and enhance their lives through what they eat and how they live.
My aim is to help you achieve your best level health and well-being.
My journey in the health and fitness years started many years ago.
As a child i was always very active, did any sport i could and loved running around and having adventures. During high school i was heavily involved in competitive swimming, inter school sports , Tennis and Judo.
I ended up deciding to focus on both Tennis and Judo, with my heart set on a sports career and a dream f going to the Olympics. I went to a tennis school, received a scholarship into a special sports development programs for rising stars, was part of the Victorian Judo team , competing both nationally and internationally, and had just placed into the junior Olympic team.
At the time I believed I was nourishing myself correctly, no junk, no heavily processed foods. I was training between 6-12 hrs every day, finishing year 12 and feeling like everything was going as I planned.
At 16 that all changed I became sick with glandular fever (which was first misdiagnosed), then straight after that pneumonia, followed by another bout of glandular fever. I was burnt out and struggled to recover, I lost a lot of weight (not being a big person to begin with), all my muscle mass and all of my energy. My immune system was wrecked, by body depleted and my confidence devastated. My goals and dreams and plans for my future now a faded image.
I lost who I was and everything I wanted in a short matter of time.
All of a sudden foods became problematic, I was reacting to everything. Bloating, nausea, discomfort, choking feelings. Id never had a problem with food. I've had a dairy allergy all my life and an allergy to citrus (except for lemon in small doses), but other than that i loved food and I always ate well.
I didn't understand what was going on. I didn't understand why this was happening. I was having seizures multiple times a day, fainting spells and even emotional breakdowns to the point i couldn't leave the house. I struggled with being at school because i was ill too often and missed to many classes. So i decided to finish over distance education. Trying to rebuild my confidence and get back in touch with what I loved I decided to do my qualifications as a Personal Trainer after finishing Yr 12.
I enjoyed it, I went on to work first in a women's only gym, then in a mixed gym. I set my sights on learning and growing as much as I could then starting my own business. Yet my health was still not compliant with my plans, and soon I started to struggle and crash again. I was only able to pretend to be ok for a certain period of time and felt embarrassed showing my weakness and struggles in public.
After suffering from a seizure while driving, resulting in a crash that i was lucky to walk away from. i needed to refocus.
I looked into healing and health, I went to new doctors and professionals and overhauled my entire lifestyle.
I had developed a heart condition called Ventricular Bradycardia, a immune condition MCAD a lot of allergies including gluten and an allergy to animal hormones and proteins. I needed to approach life and myself differently
So thats what i did. I started Studying Nutrition and Wellbeing.
My focus now is to provide others with the tools to prevent them from going through severe illnesses and to heal them.
To help athletes and professionals achieve their best, reach their goals and dreams.
